If missed yesterdays superb WonderCon footage from Guillermo del Toro’s epic futuristic creature feature, PACIFIC RIM, make sure sure you click on the link immediately. We’ve been excited at the prospect of massive mechanical man-made monsters taking on colossal Kaiji creatures but it was a trailer that blew many away and suggested that del Toro could have yet another masterpiece on hands. Only this time in the big-budget department, rather than his own personal projects that gave us the likes of CRONOS and PANS LABYRINTH.
This new banner certainly shows the same jaw-dropping scope and vision.
PACIFIC RIM stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Ron Perlman, Max Martini, Robert Kazinsky, Clifton Collins, Jr., Burn Gorman, Larry Joe Campbell, Diego Klattenhoff, and Brad William Henke. It hits cinemas from 12th July.
Cancel the apocalypse, as this is going to be blooming epic!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
