With a host of terrific summer projects looking to top even last years impressive concoction, arguably the most anticipated is Zack Snyder’s Superman upgrade, MAN OF STEEL. I’m no obsessed comic-book fan but I love a great superhero effort and growing up during the 1980s with Christopher Reeve’s iconic adventures on constant loop (yes, even the supremely sh*t SUPERMAN IV: THE QUEST FOR PEACE), I have a warm place in my heart for the DC character. Hell, I even loved Bryan Singer’s under appreciated love-letter to Kal-El, with SUPERMAN RETURNS.
Perhaps it’s Christopher Nolan’s involvement in the latest film which has myself, and many others, believing we’re on track for a Dark Knight-style rebirth, as what we’ve seen so far suggests MAN OF STEEL will be blooming brilliant… and the cast ain’t half bad either!
With that, check out this message from Michael Shannon’s Zod for the science-fiction epic flying into cinemas from 14th June. We’ve also added some news photos from Kellogg’s cereal boxes running their promo competition soon, mysterious static digital banners which have been revealing some hidden symbolic imagery on the film’s official website and also a cryptic message from the sister sites Deep Space Radio Waves Project and IWillFindHim.com. It’s all exciting!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
