Hands up – wherever you are- if you’re fan of viral campaigns, and oh, Neill Blomkamp’s upcoming project ELYSIUM. Most of you? I thought so and even if I’ve tricked one or two right into my viral-addiction (that’s not a medical problem…yet), welcome to a glorious update for Blomkamp’s follow-up to the raucous and resourceful DISTRICT 9. So far, we’ve only had some images and that booth at Comic Con but now, yes hoorah, some real interactive items have kicked off.
Armadyne.net has had a bit of a make-over and added some shexy, future-music, itsbetterupthere.com has turned into the official site and – most excitingly – a new website in the shape of WelcometoElysium.com and provides more information on the space station Elysium. If you haven’t made the link, but we know you have, the aforementioned station is where the film name comes from, which is set in the year 2159, where the very wealthy live on this man-made space station while the rest of the population resides on a ruined Earth. Did I mention a space station?
We’ve got a couple of screenshots below and if you’re lucky enough to be in 1 of 4 mentioned cities, then you’re a lucky bugger and I advise you to get in touch with me to share any info on April 8th. Here’s hoping we’ll get something London-way, or at least in the UK, as well in the coming months and maybe that first trailer:
There’s an insane 20th September 2013 release date set for the UK which I thought was recently moved to August instead but it’s definitely out in the USA on the 9th August, you lucky souls!
