THE IT CROWD’s brilliant comedy actor Chris O’Dowd has confirmed he has an upcoming cameo in Marvel’s superhero sequel, THOR: THE DARK WORLD. His popularity in Hollywood is steadily growing following roles in high-profile hits, BRIDESMAIDS, THIS IS 40 and GULLIVER’S TRAVELS. He’s also had recent success with Aussie musical drama, THE SAPPHIRES, MOONE BOY and Lena Dunham’s HBO series, GIRLS.
The Irishman let slip:
I think I’ll do more dramatic stuff and I think I have some stuff coming out that’s a bit more dramatic. I don’t know if I’d do an action movie because I don’t know if I could keep a straight face honesty, I just think it’s so silly. Like I love watching them but I can’t imagine me doing one. Actually, you know what I’ve done, just for fun because I didn’t think there was any way the I could be in a superhero movie, so I’ve done a scene in the new Thor movie, just for that. I just do one scene, which was quite fun.
O’Dowd will next be seen opposite fellow funnyman, Nick Frost, in dancing comedy CUBAN FURY, released in the UK on Friday. THOR: THE DARK WORK will see Chris Hemsworth return as the hammer-swinging Demi-god in the Alan Taylor-directed epic set for cinemas 8th November.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
