Despite not having Matthew Vaughn in the director’s chair, our hopes for KICK-ASS 2 are still high. Jeff Wadlow directs this time around as our teenage vigilante Dave Lizewski’s exploits have inspired a new wave of wannabe superheroes, led by Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey). Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) is still bitter following the death of gangland daddy, and is ‘reborn’ as The Mother Fu**er. The DIY Justice Forever crew need the help foul-mouthed assassin, Hit Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz), to bring him down.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson returns to lead the gang into action with the sequel set for US cinemas on the 16th August (a UK date is still to be confirmed). Olga Kurkulina, Clark Duke, Morris Chestnut, Lindy Booth, John Leguizamo, Donald Faison, Yancy Butler and Lyndsy Fonseca co-star.
