David Duchovny wants a bit more of Fox Mulder on the big screen and is hoping to get a third movie made of the cult-classic TV Show that also starred Gillian Anderson as Dana Scully for the series created by Chris Carter. I was undoubtedly an X-Files addict in those early years (showing my age), and although the latter half of the show didn’t have the same impact, it changed television sci-fi drama with consistent well-written narratives and characters. It also saw the starts of careers and guest appearances from the likes of THN favourite Titus Welliver, Giovanni Ribisi, Terry O’Quinn, Michael J Anderson, Jack Black, SERENITY’s Jewel Staite and even Bruce Campbell.
Duchovny took to Jay Leno on the Tonight Show in the US to state his plea and to get the fans to start writing to Fox. The sci-fi series aired for nine seasons from 1993-2002, with two movies in 1998 and 2008 and the cult-following continues. He told Leno:
“We always want to, Chris Carter and Gillian Anderson and I, we’re always on board. You want to write to Fox and get ’em going.” he continued: “You could wheel me out, I’ll be Fox Mulder forever.”

I’d go for a third and as there was 10 years between the first and second film, why not pencil in 2018 for the finale! It would be a trip down nostalgia lane and maybe they could grab one or two of those previous stars – including Robert Patrick – to get it back on the big screen. I Want To Believe…couldn’t resist!
