Robin Williams has sort of decided to slow down and make mostly smaller films for the last many years, with the occasional broad comedy thrown in for good measure…hello OLD DOGS. 2013 however seems to be a very busy year for Williams as he set to start in four films this year including what could be an Oscar contender for 2014’s ceremony, THE BUTLER, and he doesn’t look like he is about to slow down as he has signed up for Sundance winner Dino Montiel’s next film BOULEVARD.
The film is being described as an intimate story about marriage and lies and will star Williams as Nolan Mack, a devoted husband in a marriage of convenience until a run-in with a guarded young man forces Nolan to come to terms with his own secrets. The film will co-star unknown youngster Roberto Aguire, and will start production in May this year. It sounds like an interesting project and I personally think a lot of Williams’ best work has been his dramatic. It’s great to see him be more active though and hopefully he can keep it up.
