No, unfortunately this isn’t a reboot of the BRATZ franchise. It is however a tale of friendship after the apocalypse. Two friends go on a road trip only to see society crumble down around them. All they have is each other in a world of no rules and utter chaos. BEST FRIENDS FOREVER is to premiere at the Slamdance Film Festival which takes place in Park City, Utah (sorry to our UK readers. Cheer up, we get the new series of MRS. BROWNS BOYS first. Wait! That sucks).
The film stars Brea Grant and Vera Milao as the best buds. Fans funded the project through the Kickstarter website, so I’m sure it’s been put together with a lot of care and passion. The trailer looks mesmerising and has a lot of potential. Look below for the official synopsis, showtimes at Slamdance, some stills AND the trailer:
Dark comedy and heartfelt road trip buddy film wrapped in an apocalyptic disaster story, with two badass girls. Harriet (Brea Grant), a perpetually optimistic comic-book artist, dreams of escaping her past in Los Angeles and hits the road for a new life in Austin, Texas. She drags Reba (Vera Miao), her seemingly devil-may-care BFF, along for the ride. In the hush period following mysterious nuclear explosions, the girls are forced to ask: When faced with the end of the world – what is most important to you?
