Those lucky folk over at ComingSoon have received a little card from none other than the magnificent Pixar Animation and with it, a little teaser of their upcoming projects from MONSTERS UNIVERSITY that’s out later this year, right up to 2016 and the penciling in of the untitled Pixar film about Dia de los Muertos.
It’s obvious to say that we’re all huge fans of Pixar’s work, so wanted to share these little titbits further. First up, is some artwork from the aforementioned MONSTERS UNIVERSITY, the sequel to the game-changing MONSTERS INC that stars the voices of Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, Dave Foley, Julia Sweeney, Joel Murray and Peter Sohn, it opens on 21st June in the US and in the UK on 12th July, 2013.
Then, as we look ahead to 2014, they’ve got THE GOOD DINOSAUR lined up for a May 30th 2014 release in the US and 18th July 2014 in the UK. It’s directed by Bob Peterson who also co-directed the magnificent UP. The plot insight is:
What if the cataclysmic asteroid that forever changed life on Earth actually missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct?
Then, as we get to 2015, it’s Pete Docter’s untitled Pixar film That Takes You Inside the Mind. Docter wrote and also directed UP and also MONSTERS INC. This seems to be an investigation inside the mind and knowing Pixar, literally:
From director Pete Docter (“Up,” “Monsters, Inc.”) and producer Jonas Rivera (“Up”), the inventive new film will take you to a place that everyone knows, but no one has ever seen: the world inside the human mind.
Finally, we’re into 2016 with the untitled Pixar film about Dia de los Muertos. Obviously, there’s no set date at the moment but we do have a little more information and then the tiny sketch/artwork just below:
From director Lee Unkrich and producer Darla K. Anderson, the filmmaking team behind the Academy Award®-winning “Toy Story 3,” comes a wholly original Pixar Animation Studios film that delves into the vibrant holiday of Día de los Muertos.
Every project from Pixar is highly anticipated, and we’re very eager to see how these projects develop! Don’t forget, there’s only a few months until MONSTERS UNIVERSITY though, hoorah!
