When she isn’t using mind telekinetic powers, being kidnapped, or crushing men between her legs, Famke Jannsen likes to try her hand at writing and directing. This has lead to the release of a trailer for her upcoming film BRINGING UP BOBBY. The film stars Milla Jovovich, in a non ass kicking role, so it looks as though everyone is trying new things. The film sees a European con-artist travelling and having fun with her son Bobby. Unfortunately her criminal past catches up with her and she is forced to make a tough decision regarding her son’s future.
The trailer is filled with inspiring moments that will either warm your heart or nauseate you, but overall it seems fairly balanced. Bill Pullman and Rory Cochrane are due a hit, but will this independent film be it? There aren’t enough female directors out there, so let’s hope Jannsen can swiftly rise the ranks.
