Fassbender To Show Off His Rock ‘n’ Roll Chops In Frank

Is there anything this beautiful man cannot do? He already charmed us as David the android in Ridley Scott’s PROMETHEUS, he’s revealed to us the latent world of sex addiction in SHAME, and he emaciated his own body for a truly resonating portrayal of the legendary Bobby Sands in HUNGER. Now, he will play the erratic frontman of a rock band in the upcoming comedy, FRANK.

Lenny Abrahamson will direct the movie, which also stars another promising talent in Domhnall Gleeson (NEVER LET ME GO). Gleeson’s character is an aspiring musician who begins to have second thoughts after joining a band, led by Fassbender’s incarnation of insanity.

Jon Ronson and Peter Straughan, who worked together on THE MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS, have co-written the script, and Film4 and the Irish Film Board will co-finance the picture.

FRANK will be produced by David Barron, Ed Guiney and Stevie Lee, via Runaway Fridge and Element Pictures.

So, ‘no’ is the answer to the aforementioned question. We at THN have decided he will be taking the torch from Gary Oldman, once he retires, and will be confirmed as the ‘chameleon’ and devout method actor of a new generation. We love him, he can do no wrong, and we want to have his little thespian babies.

Martin has been a film buff (or geek, if you prefer) for as long as he can remember. However, he lives and longs for storytelling of all kinds, and writes across numerous mediums to feed his insatiable appetite. He lives in north-west London, and his favourite films are, possibly: PAN'S LABYRINTH, THEY LIVE, PSYCHO, HIGH FIDELITY, ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST, STAND BY ME, SIDEWAYS and OFFICE SPACE.
