MGM Suing Makers Of Raging Bull 2

MGM have finally gotten off their behinds and are now suing those responsible for the upcoming RAGING BULL 2. RAGING BULL 2 is both a sequel and a prequel to the 1980 classic RAGING BULL, and follows the life of boxer Jake La Motta. This sequel has nothing to do with Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro or MGM studios. How can this be legal? Well, it may not be. MGM are claiming that all rights to a sequel rest with them. They are also alleging that the makers of RAGING BULL 2 are attempting to cash in on the success of their Oscar winning triumph. I wonder what gave it away. Perhaps the 2 after the exact same title.
MGM are hoping to put a stop to this film and who can blame them? They could have easily called the film ‘La Motta’ or ‘In A China Shop’, and everything would be above board. I wouldn’t be surprised if the producers of RAGING BULL 2 expected this all along and were hoping it would generate some publicity for them. After all, they don’t exactly have the talent of the original. Martin Guigi takes over from Scorsese in the director’s chair; don’t worry, you haven’t heard of him.

RAGING BULL 2 is set for release in 2013. It stars William Forsythe, Joe Mantegna, Paul Sorvino and Natasha Henstridge.
