Ridley Scott contains to tease with details of his ALIEN prequel which isn’t an Alien prequel which may….ah you should know this by now! PROMETHEUS arrives in UK cinemas in June 2012 but we’ve not had a trailer and so far just the one image. In an interview with Speakeasy, Ridley has given us a taster that the story will evolve into a “a pretty good DNA of the Alien one.”

He also confirmed that Sigourney Weaver will not make a cameo appearance – which is logical – and will be using 3D, CGI and all the “tricks and the toys”.

There’s also an easy clue in the title, PROMETHEUS was the champion of mankind in Greek mythology but he was equally revered and feared in the early history of mankind. Could this be the moment that changes the existence of humanity…will we or the Alien take control? Obviously, this is guesswork at this stage but we’re quite excited by the prospect of what’s to come.

PROMETHEUS is written by current master of re-invention Damon Lindelof together with Jon Spaihts who has also written up-coming THE DARKEST HOUR. It stars Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Patrick Wilson, Guy Pearce, Idris Elber and Noomi Rapace.
