The Walking Dead Renewed For Season 3

We’re only two episodes into season two, but AMC are already getting giddy about a third series of THE WALKING DEAD. But who’s complaining, at least we know.

In a statement released from AMC, president Charlie Collier announces his feelings of ecstasy toward the show;

‘We are pleased to announce that the ‘dead’ shall live as we proudly renew ‘The Walking Dead’ for a third season on AMC and, globally, with our terrific partners at Fox International Channels. We are thankful for everyone’s contribution in front of and behind the camera as we continue to make ‘The Walking Dead’ a unique television experience. We are so proud as it continues to set viewership records around the world.’

With only six episodes in season one, and a somewhat rushed finale, it could appear to some that AMC didn’t have much faith in THE WALKING DEAD originally. Now that’s all changed we can only hope it means AMC will throw some more money at Robert Kirkman and co. With BREAKING BAD coming to an end after the next series, and MAD MEN also well into its fiftieth episode, AMC may need to start thinking about a new flagship show if they intend to carry on their new-found rivalry with HBO.

Episode two of THE WALKING DEAD premieres in the UK this Friday on FX Network.
