Today over at comingsoon.net, Warner Bros. have announced shooting is under way on Director and Star Ben Affleck’s new project ARGO. Featuring what looks like another fantastic supporting cast with the likes of Alan Arkin (GROSSE POINT BLANK), Bryan Cranston (BREAKING BAD), Michael Parks (KILL BILL)and John Goodman (THE BIG LEBOWSKI).
The film, based on true events, chronicles the covert mission to rescue six Americans involved in a hostage crisis over in Iran.
The film will also see George Clooney and Grant Heslov (GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD LUCK) on producing duties. Looks like the type of project that could be another awards contender for Ben Affleck following on from his impressive stellar work on GONE BABY GONE and THE TOWN.
Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
