I read this little rumour over at What’s Playing yesterday, and to be honest, forgot to post it on the site (Christmas shopping got in the way). It looks like a WWE superstar turned film actor may be ‘replacing’ Arnold Schwarzenegger for a lead role in the planned TV series of the hit James Cameron film TRUE LIES.
The show is being produced by Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment banner.
A scooper told the following to the site:
“[My company] does a bit of work with Lightstorm. I’ve been involved in a new 3D animated [project] over at [the company]. Had heard Tuesday that the ‘True Lies’ telemovie and the series that will follow, which Lightstorm are doing, are looking at John Cena. Don’t know if he would be a new character or Schwarzenegger’s character from the film. It’s still early because they’re only on the first draft.”
So, what do we think about that? My only memory of seeing a John Cena film was that of THE MARINE, which I recall that I enjoyed at the time?
More at the end of the link.
