Jason Segel plans Five Year Engagement

Jason Segel, who is currently shooting his self-scripted MUPPETS movie, has already lined up his next project, a romantic comedy called FIVE YEAR ENGAGEMENT which he hopes to shoot in April with co-writer Nicholas Stoller (FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL, GET HIM TO THE GREEK).

In a recent interview with US magazine Entertainment Weekly, Segel described the feel of the movie.

“We will start shooting in April. It is a romantic comedy. Our goal is Annie Hall or When Harry Met Sally and if we get within their stratosphere of substance, we will be happy. It really dissects relationships and aims to show how complicated they are over a long period of time. This is a five-year period and in that time things change and morph and the power dynamic shifts and people wane and eyes wonder and you question everything and this movie is about that in a funny way, I hope.”

Stoller and Segel wrote the screenplay, and the movie will be produced by none other than Judd Apatow.
