One of the best, if not the best movie shows on British radio is undoubtedly Mark Kermode and Simon Mayo’s BBC Radio 5 Live show that goes out on a Friday afternoon each and every week. Having been on air for the best part of ten years, the show continues to entertain, and I for one am an avid listener even if on Podcast only, each and every week.
Every Friday, the good Kermode reviews every release for that week, and sometimes veers off into amusing rant mode about a movie that he is either positively, or indeed negatively critiquing. I had the pleasure of sitting just three seats away from the good Dr. at a London screening for a film that we are embargoed to even mention before mid-January, just a week and a bit ago. I thank my lucky stars for not breaking any of the superb Moviegoers Code Of Conduct (posted below in amusing video form), although I did have alongside me a glass of beer, which was handed to me by the organisers. This was in a glass, had no straw (so slurping was near impossible), and was sipped rather sporadically through the film. I think I am safe.
Take a look at the video below and tune into the superb show each and every Friday afternoon at 2pm GMT on BBC Radio 5 Live. International listeners can also access the Podcast here.
