Film website ComingSoon.net claims that it has confirmed that Darren Aronofsky (BLACK SWAN, REQUIEM FOR A DREAM) is in talks to direct WOLVERINE 2 for 20th Century Fox.
The sequel to X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE is written by Christopher McQuarrie (THE USUAL SUSPECTS) and once again will star Hugh Jackman as the title character. Aronofsky has worked with Jackman before, on the 2006 movie THE FOUNTAIN.

The plot involves Logan beginning a forbidden romance with a Japanese woman whose hand in marriage is, unfortunately, promised to another man. Since Logan won’t take “no” for an answer, it puts him into battle with her father and her samurai-sword-wielding brothers.
