Al Pacino may be uniting on-screen with Goodfellas and Casino star Joe Pesci (he hasn’t made a movie for AGES) for the mob drama The Irishman, based on the expliots of hitman Frank ‘The Irishman’ Sheeran. The movie is actually in development over at Paramount Pictures with Robert De Niro’s production company Tribeca Productions. The word is that this may be the film that Martin Scorsese may make his next project!!!
So that’s Al Pacino, Joe Pesci and possibly Robert De Niro all on screen together in a gangster film directed by the legendary Scorsese. Pacino and De Niro have already united on screen in both Heat and Righteous Kill, while De Niro and Pecsi starred together in the aforementioned Goodfellas and Casino, as well as the awesome Raging Bull.
Steve Zaillian wrote the script for The Irishman.
Scorsese is currently shooting The Invention of Hugo Cabret in London.
