The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog is reporting that Cyrus Voris and Ethan Reiff, the two writers that penned the wonderful Kung Fu Panda, have been hired by Columbia Pictures to write a sequel of this year’s hit remake of The Karate Kid.
The film, which cost a mere $40 million to make, has grossed an huge $299.7 million worldwide. Jackie Chan, Jaden Smith and Taraji P. Henson starred, Harald Zwart directed while Will Smith‘s Overbrook Entertainment produced.
Smith will once again produce the planned sequel, along with partners James Lassiter and Ken Stovitz.

i can’t wait for this. i love the remake. i thought it was waaaay better than the original. the original was kind of a slow moving film while the re-make was a fast moving action movie.
