I have been reading everywhere today that the next installment in the James Bond franchise has been put on hold due to the future of MGM being in doubt, but now I read that the movie is set to be fast-tracked with none other than British helmer Sam Mendes directing the thing.

So, Sam Mendes with action. Has he ever done that — I mean, he came close with JARHEAD yes, but it doesn’t get any bigger than Bond does it. Discuss.
