Robert Pattinson says 'Twilight' is like a "virus".

The actor - who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the movie franchise - is amazed at the response he's had from fans around the world to the latest instalment, 'New Moon'.

He said: "We went to Japan earlier on in the year. There wasn't that much of a reaction - but last week when we went again, it suddenly exploded, the same as in England.

"I don't know how, it just explodes so quickly. It takes seven months to take hold - it's like a virus."

The 19-year-old actress - who plays Bella Swann in the vampire saga - said she found it hard to deal with the disappearance of Robert's character Edward Cullen for a large chunk of the filming.

She said: "For Bella in this film, Edward leaving her is like physical withdrawal. She is an addict when it comes to this boy.

Robert Pattinson took inspiration from James Dean for his role in 'Twilight'.

The 23-year-old British actor - who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the hit movie franchise - owes his success to the Academy Award-nominated star of 'Rebel Without a Cause'.

He said: "I tried copying James Dean's accent just because I've always wanted James Dean's voice. I think that is why it has worked. Everyone loves a bit of James Dean."

Pattinson also tried to copy the acting style of the screen legend, who tragically died aged 24 after a car crash.

'Twilight' was the big winner at last night's Scream Awards (18.10.09).

The vampire franchise won four accolades at the star-studded ceremony at the Greek Theatre in Hollywood, including Best Fantasy Movie, while its two main lead stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were named Best Fantasy Actor in the Female and Male categories respectively.

Their co-star Taylor Lautner won Breakout Performance Male, while 'Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen' starlet Isabel Lucas was named Breakout Performance Female.

Here's one to get the teeny tongues wagging this morning, the very first image from the David Slade directed TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE. This image debuted in People magazine and features Edward and Bella in a field... shock horror... making out! Or not. Robert Pattinson touching Kristen Stewart's face.

Actor Michael Sheen has opened up and spoken out about the very soon to be released TWLIGHT sequel, TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON, which is out next month. Sheen plays the vampire Aro in the film.

Sheen, who has played Tony Blair, Brian Clough and David Frost in his last few movie, soke to Parade magazine about his new role.

With all of the women going a bit crazy over Robert Pattinson, we thought it was time that we, the makes of the universe, celebrate the form of Kristen Stewart, the ovely young lass who plays Bella in the upcoming THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON and the 2008 break-out hit TWILIGHT.

Stewart appears in the October issue of Interview magazine. In the mag, Kristen revealed to non other that the [recently hospitalised] Dennis Hopper that she is taking herr character to the next level in the news movie, which is out next month.

"Usually, at the end of a film it's like I've finally gotten to know this person completely, and then we're done," Kristen explained.

"That actually happened on the set of 'Twilight,' and then it happened again on 'New Moon.' Each time my character Bella [Swan] became a different person, and I got to know that person and take her to the next level."

Who is looking forward to THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON then? Hands up. A lot of you. Well, the film isn't that far off now as it finally opens in theaters on November 20th. We have heard that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE started shooting yesterday - that's the third movie in the vampire franchise, but the more exciting news is that the second film, NEW MOON got a new trailer!
