US Marshals (1998) Movie Review - Reviewed by: Adam Mast, Zboneman.com

Welcome to the world of rehashed sequels! Surprisingly, U.S. Marshals is not as bad as one might expect. It offers more of the same, and isn't particularly groundbreaking, but it does have Tommy Lee Jones reprising his Oscar winning role as U.S. Marshal Sam Gerard.

This time Gerard is tracking a new fugitive played by Wesley Snipes. Robert Downey Jr. is also along for the ride as a smarmy F.B.I. agent. Snipes plays his fugitive as a tough guy, whereas Harrison Ford played it as an everyman.

Snipes is no Ford but he does a decent job dodging bullets, and jumping from buildings. U.S. Marshals isn't a great sequel, but it is solid entertainment and directed with a sure hand by Stuart Baird. The only two things holding it back from a higher rating, are a predicable plot twist, and a less than satisfying climax
