Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo (1999) Movie Review

Yet another Saturday Night Live cast member has tried to make that leap to the big screen. This time it's Rob Schneider.

Schneider plays a lonely aquarium cleaner who finds his life in turmoil when he poses as a gigolo to get out of debt.

Deuce Bigalow is mostly an excuse to make low brow stabs at such serious conditions as terrets syndrome and narcolepsy.

It should also be noted, however, that this film is definitely better than some of the other S.N.L. supported films of recent memory (Lost and Found, Night at the Roxbury and Superstar, etc.).

I must admit, I see a certain amount of potential in Schneider. There are moments in this ridiculous film, where he reminds me of Micheal Keaton. I also got a kick out of William Forsythe (The Rock) as a manic police officer and Eddie Griffin as a smart talking pimp. At moments they take Deuce to a higher level, but not nearly high enough.
