DGA Awards Nominations

The nominees for the 57th Director's Guild of America awards have been announced. The winner of the award, which are a good indicator of who may bag a directing Oscar, is announced at a DGA dinner on January 29th.

This years nominations are as follows - Clint Eastwood for Million Dollar Baby, Marc Forster for Finding Neverland, Taylor Hackford for Ray, Martin Scorsese for The Aviator and Alexander Payne for Sideways.

"It's not necessarily the film that does the best at the box office or has the biggest stars but the film that comes together -- a film that works," DGA president Michael Apted said of the nominated features. "It's also the only award decided solely by their peers."

The Oscar nominations are announced on January 25th.
