The
awards season is getting into full swing. Just a couple of weeks to the Golden
Globes and the Oscar® nominations, then come the Oscars themselves at the
end of February and just before then, on the 12th February, come the BAFTA's.
The
British Academy Film and Television Awards are dished out to the best achievements
in both film and television in the year 2004. Last years' winner was the Lord
of The Rings: Return of the King and stars including Johnny Depp, Renee Zellweger,
Catherine Zeta Jones, Michael Douglas, Meryl Streep and Sir Ian Mckellen attended
the ceremony.
Every year, Orange, the events sponsors hold an award that
is voted for by the film going public. You can vote for the best film of 2004
and if you're lucky, enjoy a dazzling night out at the Orange British Academy
Film Awards at the Odeon Leicester Square - including food, accommodation and
travel in the UK. There's also a chance of winning a state-of-the-art digital
film making kit, featuring an Apple® powerbook, digital camcorder and editing
software worth over £2,000.
The shortlisted films are below (hey,
