US comedian Chris Rock (Head of State, Bad Company) is to host the 77th annual Academy Awards. The glitzy event takes place in Los Angeles on February 27th 2005. The awards known at the Oscars, that take place at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood, have previously been hosted by the likes of Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg, and Steve Martin.
