Benioff To Write 'Wolverine'

October 5, 2004

Wolverine in X-MenThe 25th Hour and Troy scribe Daniel Benioff will write 'Wolverine' for 20th Century Fox. The film is a spin-off from the hit series X-Men, which also has a third movie being written by Simon Kinberg. Plot details are unknown but the word at Fox and Marvel is that both Wolverine and X-Men 3 will shoot back-to-back. Hugh Jackman will return to the role that made him an international star. There's no word on a helme at this stage (X-Men and X-Men 2 director Bryan Singer is off to do Superman), but Lauren Shuler Donner and Marvel's Avi Arad will produce.

X-Men 3, or X3, will be hoping for a June 2006 release.
