Marvel have set up an Ant-Man sequel for 2018, and it will be officially titled Ant Man and The Wasp.

Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly will reprise their roles as Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne from this year’s Ant-Man, with the exact date for release set as being July 6th, 2018, three years after the release of the first movie.

Ant-Man made $178.5M domestically this year, and $231.5M internationally for a global total of $410M – putting it within the top ten movies of the year.

Because of the Ant Man and The Wasp announcement, it means that two other MCU movies will have to be moved around a little. Black Panther is moving up to February 16, 2018 and Captain Marvel will now release on March 8, 2019.

In addition, three untitled Marvel Studios films have been announced, and they will hit cinemas on May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020, and November 6, 2020. Obviously the studio have not mentioned what they will be, but will not be within the Phase 3 schedule which kicks off next year.

Here’s the plot of Ant-Man, if you didn’t manage to catch it this summer. If that’s the case, we suggest you do so just as soon as it’s humanly possible. Read our Ant-Man review over here.

Forced out of his own company by former protégé Darren Cross, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) recruits the talents of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), a master thief just released from prison. Lang becomes Ant-Man, trained by Pym and armed with a suit that allows him to shrink in size, possess superhuman strength and control an army of ants. The miniature hero must use his new skills to prevent Cross, also known as Yellowjacket, from perfecting the same technology and using it as a weapon for evil.

Don’t forget, Ant Man and The Wasp hits cinemas on July 6th, 2018.
