Michael Jackson's 'This Is It' film has had its cinema run extended.

The footage from the 'Thriller' star's rehearsals for his doomed comeback shows has proved a box office hit, making more than $101 million worldwide since it opened in cinemas on October 28.

This has prompted Sony pictures to extend its cinema run from an initial two weeks by another three weeks in the US and between one and three weeks in other countries.

Of the decision, Sony Pictures spokesperson Rory Bruer said: "He's just loved everywhere on the planet."

Michael Jackson's fans are boycotting 'This Is It', the film about his last performance.

Thousands of the late singer's followers have formed a group called 'This Is Not It', to protest against the movie, which is due to be released on October 28.

The group has accused the AEG and Sony - the firms behind the film - of concealing Michael's poor health and glossing over the stress he was under as he prepared for his 50-date London residency.

Michael Jackson was "never satisfied" with his music.

According to singer-and-producer Akon - who worked with the 'King of Pop' on many tracks for possible future release - the legendary pop star was never happy with his songs and always aspired to do something greater.

Akon said: "He was never satisfied. Like, we might have passed up ideas that I know for a fact were smashes. He'd be like, 'Nah, nah -- we got to come up with something better.' We can never do better because his expectation was so high. It was almost to a point where we would have to get a record and I would believe in it and just put it out, because otherwise it would never come out because he always believed we could do better."

Michael Jackson was at his "fighting weight" when he died.

Kenny Ortega - the Hollywood choreographer who was working with the star on his 'This Is It' London comeback shows when he tragically died in June - was helping the frail singer bulk up.

He said: "He was thin, but he was at what he liked to call his 'fighting weight'. He didn't like to eat, but we were always watching him and making sure he had plenty of protein drinks and fluids.
