Variety are reporting that David Walliams has joined the cast of the new Steve Carell movie DINNER FOR SCHMUCKS. The LITTLE BRITAIN star makes his Hollywood debut in the film playing a Swiss banker who is considering making an investment in the company run by Paul Rudd and Bruce Greenwood's characters.

The film is directed by MEET THE PARENTS helmer Jay Roach. Zach Galifianakis, Lucy Punch and Stephanie Szostak also star in the film, which is set for a release in August of 2010.

British comedy star David Walliams has signed a deal to star in 20th Century Fox's new movie MARMADUKE, a film based on the comic strip of the same name about a Great Dane and his family. LITTLE BRITAIN star Walliams will play Marmaduke's trailer in the film, which is being hailed as the next BEETHOVEN.

"I am absolutely thrilled. The script is hilarious - I shoot it over the summer."Walliams said to the News of the World newspaper in the UK.

A source told the newspaper:

"This is a huge opportunity for David to show the world what he can do. Hugh Laurie became a superstar after being in the Stuart Little films. They led to an audition for the series House.

"From doing a family film he's now one of the highest-paid, most popular actors on US TV. David could do the same."
