Real Madrid star David Beckham had to refuse a part in the current remake of 'The Pink Panther' to concentrate on his game, according to Ananova.

"I was offered a part in the new Pink Panther film. But I had a lot of games that were coming up, so I decided not to do it because of them. It was quite a good part, apparently" admitted Becks. He didn't exactly say what the role was.

It wasn't the first offer made to the middlefielder, and surely not the last. He gave his name to 2002's surprise hit 'Bend it Like Beckham', and signed on Danny Canon's 'Goal' to play himself.

However, the increasing number of offers received by the player seem to be more annoying than flattering, judging by his comments.

"I've never said that I definitely want to go into movies. I've been offered a couple of things, but my football comes first. After that, we'll have to wait and see."

As for 'Pink Panther', its cast and crew managed to overcome their disappointment and proceed without Becks. The movie is due out in theatres next summer.
