Sandra Bullock has been awarded $7 million in damages after a lengthy court battle with a builder. The actress was not present for the proceedings in Austin, Texas.

The court battle began all the way back in August with Bullock's lawyers arguing that Benny Daneshjou was responsible for 4 million pounds in repairs needed to the house in Texas, a 10,000 square foot mansion which was never finished. Witnesses testified the house had water damage, faulty framing on the roof, wiring within the dry wall that was too small and damage in the masonry. Bullock has never lived in the house.

Daneshjou's lawyers said former project manager David Shrum and most of the sub-contractors on the job were to blame.

The jury found that Shrum breached his duties but did not hold him responsible for damages. Daneshjou's lawyers say their client plans to appeal.
