British racing star Lewis Hamilton has won this year's British Grand Prix in a thrilling, though rain-soaked race at Silverstone. Today marked the penultimate occasion in which the British Grand Prix will be held at the legendary home of racing. In 2010 the action moves to Donnington.

Nick Heidfeld took second place for BMW ahead of Rubens Barrichello's Honda.

Hamilton is now tied on points at the top of the championship with Ferrari drivers Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa, who finished fourth and 13th in Sunday's race.
