Original CSI: Crime Scene Investigation star William Petersen will return to the hit US television series after agreeing a new contract. Petersen, who left the show to take a stage role last year, has agreed to return to the Jerry Bruckheimer produced series for a ninth run.
Trade paper The Hollywood Reporter says that following "lengthy negotiations" Petersen would return, but appear in a reduced number of episodes.
