DOCTOR WHO series producer and writer Russell T. Davies has said that he wants the current Doctor David Tennant to stay in the role in the future. Speaking to Digital Spy, Davies said:

"I want David to stay on forever," He said at the launch of the fourth season of the hit BBC series on Tuesday evening.

But Davies wouldn't be drawn into whether he would be there for the fifth season in 2010.

"Never mind what happens behind the scenes, it's what happens on Saturday night that's important," he said.

The fourth season debuts on Saturday night at 6:20pm on BBC One.
