The World Wresting Entertainment company have inked a deal with 20th Century Fox that will give the studio a first-look option at distributing films starring their pro-wrestlers.

Variety reported the news that WWE Films plans to develop, finance and produce at least one theatrical release and up to four direct-to-video titles every year starting in 2009. The move is similar to that inked with comic book house Marvel whose movies IRON MAN and THE INCREDIBLE HULK are being distributed by Fox this year.

The word is that the new movies to be produced by WWE Films will be aimed at the PG-13 audience rather than the hard R that is had pursued with its previous flurry of movies.
