The trade paper says that the new version, which has been immortalised on screen dozens of times over the last century, will be produced by Jerry Weintraub, aka the dude that most recently produced the hugely successful Ocean's Eleven and its two sequels.
Sommers will co-write the new flick with Stuart Beattie. It will be released by Warner Brothers.
