The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences have ruled that only two songs from any one movie can be nominated for the Best Song Oscar.
Stariting with the 81st awards in 2009, the Academy will permit
no more than two songs from a single film to be nominated for an Oscar,
although there's still no limit to the number that may be submitted for
consideration, so says Variety.
In recent years films have received multiple nods for songs included in them Examples include ENCHANTED and DREAMGIRLS, two musical driven movies that received three Oscar nominations in the Best Song category in the year that they were released.
