Everyone seems to have taken it for granted that Christopher Nolan is to come back and direct a third Batman movie for Warner Brothers, but it seems that the British helmer is yet to sign on the dotted line for the studio.
The Hollywood Reporter says that a third movie may not even happen. That's despite THE DARK KNIGHT's huge, whopping, massive, record-breaking box-office haul of $500 million plus.
Charles Roven, producer of THE DARK KNIGHT told the trade paper that:
"There are a lot of us who emotionally would love to do it, but it's really Chris' call. Chris is the kind of filmmaker who just doesn't think about the next movie before he has completely finished the movie he is working on. When he comes back, we will see how he feels."
THE DARK KNIGHT continues to take in the green across the globe, and if we were betting peeps here at THN, we'd put our cash on the fact that the WB will indeed push for a third flick in the series. Whatever, or whoever is involved.
