Two names have joined Tom Hanks in THE DA VINCI CODE prequel ANGELS AND DEMONS.
Israeli actress Ayelet Zurer will play the female lead opposite Hanks in the Ron Howard directed movie, housed over at Universal. The big news however, is that Ewan McGregor is also in talks to play the role of a powerful Vatican insider who assists Hanks's character Robert Langdon.Variety reports that the story centers on religious art scholar Robert Langdon, who once again finds himself entangled with powerful forces with ancient roots: the Illuminati -- the most powerful underground organization in history -- and the Catholic Church. Zurer will play Vittoria Vetra, an Italian scientist who joins forces with Langdon.
Akiva Goldsman, who penned the 'Da Vinci Code' screenplay, wrote the script for 'Demons'. The film is based on the novel by Dan Brown.
