Every year, the London Film and Comic Con takes place in the capital. The show, over the past few years has got bigger and bigger, and just a couple of years ago migrated from the halls of the Wembley exhibition centre to the vast complex that is Earls Court, and this year's event is going to be the biggest yet. Stars from cinema, television, comic book land and even the sporting world are scheduled to descend on the event, which this year takes place over the weekend of September 1st and 2nd.

The likes of STAR TREK and X-MEN's Patrick Stuart, HEROES stars Jack Coleman and  Hayden Pannettiere, LOST's Dominic Monaghan, CASINO ROYALE's Madds Mikkelsen and THE FOOTBALL FACTORY's Danny Dyer are all set to appear. We'll be heading to the city to cover the event (hopefully), and we'll bring you more news as it comes our way. Here's the press release from the organisers Showmasters. For more info, and for an up to date list of guests, log on to the official website.

The London Film and Comic Con is returning to the capital city, and this time it’s bigger and better than ever before!

On the 1st and 2nd September 2007 Showmasters will be running their very prestigious LONDON FILM AND COMIC CON mega event at Earls Court in London, England, where the public get to mingle with over 50 stars from Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Star Wars, James Bond, Lost, Star Trek, and many other major blockbuster films and cult tv series.

This September movie stars from around the world will be descending on London for the movie and media event of the year, and you’re all invited!
There will be over 50 movie stars and TV celebrities appearing over the two days from a wide range of genres, big American blockbusters and cult tv classics, including some of the most recognised people from the big and small screen, all signing autographs and meeting fans throughout the weekend. The public at the event can also take part in free talks and even professional photo sessions with the stars!
For a full list of guest stars appearing over the weekend check out the list at the bottom of the page.

Other attractions include exclusive guest talks, displays of original movie costumes, a chance to see Bumblebee (the 1970’s Camaro from the new Transformers movie), comic artists and writers sketching and chatting to budding artists, exclusive promotions, and costume masquerade. It will take a whole 2 days just to take everything in!

And as if that wasn’t enough the MEDIEVAL II: TOTAL WAR live action tournament Grand Finals will be taking place over the weekend, with movie stuntmen vs role-players vs battle re-enactors all fighting it out in our purpose built arena to be crowned champion of champions!

There will also be a massive dealers hall with hundreds of stands and specialist companies from around Europe and the USA selling a wide range of merchandise. From replica lightsabres to original posters from the greatest classic films ever made, toys, autographs, movies, replica swords, books, comics, cards, and even original movie props and costumes, there will be everything to keep the big kid in all of us happy!

The show has grown into a colossal annual mega-event, with many of the major film distributors and merchandise companies giving sneak previews of their forthcoming attractions and promoting the latest releases. The London Film and Comic Con is rapidly evolving into a focal point for the movie and media industry, a chance for companies to launch their campaigns and fans to be the very first to see what’s new.
