Well, I didn't think that GOAL! 3 would happen, particularly after the average performance of the previous two movies. But alas, I am indeed wrong, which I'm pleased about because I actually quite liked said first two flicks.

Music video and commercials director Andy Morahan will direct the last movie in the trilogy, which sees soccer players from different backgrounds striving to achieve their sporting dreams at the 2006 World Cup, according to Variety.

Mexican actor Kuno Becker will return to play the lead in the film, alongside Nick Moran, Anya Lahiri, Gary Lewis, Christopher Fairbank, Ori Pfeffer, Antonia Bernath, Gabrielle Richens, Tamer Hassan (superb) and Tereza Srbova.

GOAL 3! will use action footage starring real life stars David Beckham, Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard already shot at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

The film will shoot in Nottingham, England, and be released in the summer of 2008.
