Dominic Monaghan joins cast of Wolverine movie

LOST and LORD OF THE RINGS actor Dominic Monaghan has joined the cast of director Gavin Hood's X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE movie. He joins the cast, lead by X-MEN's Hugh Jackman who returns to the role he played in the three X movies.

Variety reports that Monaghan will play Barnell, a mysterious character from Wolverine's past who has the ability to manipulate energy and electricity. Henney will portray Agent Zero, a member of the Weapon X program and an expert tracker with lethal marksman skills.

The Scot joins Liev Schrieber, Danny Huston, Taylor Kitsch, Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am, Lynn Collins and Ryan Reynolds.


Daniel Benioff wrote the script for the new movie, a prequel to the X-MEN films.
