Actor Johnny Depp is to reunite with his PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN director Gore Verbinski on new animated flick RANGO.

Depp will lend a voice to the lead character in the Paramount housed film, a household pet that goes on an adventure to discover its true self.

Quite a high-caliber talent list on this one, as the film is written by John Logan, who penned Martin Scorsese's THE AVIATOR. Industrial Light and Magic, those geniuses from the world of special effects will work on the animation.

The film already has a release date set, for March 2011.
