ABOUT THE MOVIES:
THE SPIRIT stars Gabriel
Macht, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Eva
Mendes, Sarah Paulson, Stana Katic, Dan Lauria,
Jaime King, Paz Vega and Louis Lombardi. The
film is written and directed by Frank Miller, creator of SIN
CITY and 300, and based on the classic series by comic legend Will
Eisner.
Adapted from Will Eisner’s legendary
comic strip, THE SPIRIT, an action-adventure-romance, is the
story of a former rookie cop who returns mysteriously from the dead
as the SPIRIT (Gabriel Macht) to fight crime from the shadows
of Central City. His arch-enemy, the OCTOPUS (Samuel L.
Jackson) has a different mission: he’s going to devastate the Spirit's
beloved city as he pursues his own version of immortality. The
Spirit tracks this cold-hearted killer from Central City’s rundown
warehouses, to the damp catacombs, to the windswept waterfront ... all
the while facing a bevy of beautiful women who either want to seduce,
love or kill our masked crusader.
SAW V:
In the fifth instalment of the SAW franchise, Hoffman is seemingly
the last person alive to carry on the Jigsaw legacy. But when his secret
is threatened, Hoffman must go on the hunt to eliminate all loose ends.
SAW 5 stars Tobin Bell as Jigsaw, Costas Mandylor
as Hoffman and Meagan Good as Luba
REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA: In the year 2056 – the not so distant future – an epidemic of organ failures devastates the planet. Out of the tragedy, a savior emerges: GeneCo, a biotech company that offers organ transplants… for a price. Those who miss their payments are scheduled for repossession and hunted by villainous Repo Men.
In a world where surgery addicts are
hooked on painkilling drugs and murder is sanctioned by law, a sheltered
young girl searches for the cure to her own rare disease as well as
information about her family’s mysterious history. After being sucked
into the haunting world of GeneCo, she is unable to turn back, as all
of her questions will be answered at the wildly anticipated spectacular
event: The Genetic Opera.
Directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (SAW II, SAW III, SAW IV) and produced by Twisted Pictures and Lionsgate, this futuristic horror rock opera stars Paul Sorvino (GOODFELLAS), Alexa Vega (SPY KIDS), Paris Hilton (HOUSE OF WAX), Anthony Head (TV’s “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”), Bill Moseley (THE DEVIL’S REJECTS), Ogre (from the band Skinny Puppy) and world-renowned opera singer Sarah Brightman (Broadway’s “Phantom of the Opera”). By fusing ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW and BLADE RUNNER, this unique production will modernize the “rock opera” genre with original music and rich, dark production design.
SAW V will be released in cinemas in the UK on October 24th, 2008
THE SPIRIT will be released in cinemas in the UK on January 2nd, 2009
