The word over at the IESB is that George Clooney may in line to star in the title role of G.I. Joe in director Stephen Sommers film, based on the toy range and comic book series.
If the rumours are true, Clooney, who has just departed Joe Carnahan's adaptation of James Ellroy's WHITE JAZZ, would replace studio favourite Mark Wahlberg in the film.
"Rumor is that one of the reasons he walked
away from Joe Carnahan’s White Jazz was not only due to scheduling
conflicts but also because he is looking for a blockbuster to star in.
The word in the Hollywood grapevine is Clooney has been offered a role
in GI Joe and it’s the character of Duke." The site reports.
