MADONNA's adopted home city of London will be dancing to the beat of the
MATERIAL GIRL this weekend - with a series of club nights to mark her
birthday.
Salvador & Amanda, near Leicester Square, will be pumping out retrobeat tunes
and staging performances from Tranni Danni and Heidi Liscious in honour of the
Queen of Pop's 50th.
The G-A-Y Late Bar, off Charing Cross Road, is hosting the Sticky & Sweet
Birthday Party - featuring eight hours of Madonna songs and videos, and the
chance to win Madonna-related prizes.
In Scotland, the Dumfries Pride rally coincides with the singer's birthday -
and organisers are celebrating by installing a Madonna Area, featuring non-stop
music, a Vogue dancing competition, and a prize for the best Madonna
lookalike.
Meanwhile, a Madonna Party will be held at the Globe Theatre in Brisbane,
Australia, with entertainment including a screening of Desperately Seeking
Susan and non-stop Madonna tunes all night.
