Samuel L. Jackson has set his sights on a sequel to the 1996 action-flick THE LONG KISS GOODNIGHT. Sam 'The Man' is said to be working closely with original director Renny Harlin on a sequel to the film, which saw Geena Davis star as an assassin with amnesia.
It's thought that Geena Davis will not have as big (if any) part in the proposed film, as this time around, the action focuses on her on-screen daughter.
It's also not been confirmed as to whether Shane Black will be brought back to write the screenplay. Black, who wrote LETHAL WEAPON and THE LAST BOY SCOUT also wrote the first LONG KISS GOODNIGHT, at the time breaking the record for the most amount of money paid to a screenwriter for an original script. Who knows, they may even bring Black back as director.
Since writing the first movie Black has gone on to direct himself. The writer received both critical and commercial acclaim with his 2005 movie KISS KISS BANG BANG.
